We now take bookings for groups of up to 8 people for taster sessions and sets of five lessons...

The best way to book is to contact Mags directly via e-mail at magscuttle@gmail.comIf you are looking for a specific date for one-off sessions, it is best to book a month or two in advance to avoid disappointment - especially if you would like a Saturday or evening lesson. Bookings for during the day (Tuesday-Friday) are more readily available.

There are different lesson options available.

'My daughter and I had so much fun in our pottery for beginners lesson today. Mags is wonderfully welcoming, extremely patient and a really excellent teacher!’ Thank you again for a wonderful lesson!'  (Rachel, Sept 2021)

Covid-19 studio expectations updated November 2023. - Wearing a mask still optional.

Access to a hand-basin for washing hands will be provided at the start and end of each lesson. Students (and teachers) may choose to wear a face mask in line with Healthcare England advise. (disposable mask provided or bring your own). Teachers are happy to wear masks on student request. As always, medically exempt students do not need a mask, and for deaf/hard of hearing students teachers will remove their masks.

Please do not attend if you or a member of your household are exhibiting high temperature, new cough or loss/change of sense of smell. Your Teacher will have tested negative for Covid in the last 7 days  (as long as tests are available.)

Lessons missed due to Covid-19 symptoms may be re-booked for a later date.

What to expect...

At our Kennington (Oxford) studio, lessons are exclusively in throwing on the wheel with a dedicated teacher (Mags) to support you in making up to 3 pots in every session. The studio has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to let you enjoy the creative experience. All sessions are a maximum group size of four (unless your group is larger) - with two teachers available so you will never be left without support when you need it.  Basic session price includes keeping and kiln firing of your favourite pot (including glaze). Or, come back later to glaze your own pots! (£7 for the extra session)

What you need....

Very short finger nails are definitely best but not essential.

Long hair should be tied back.

Rings and bracelets/watches should be removed (if possible).

Face mask is now optional.

Bring shoes that are easily cleaned - they may get splashed with wet clay!
